The Lui Bar

Last friday night The Bunch dated us to "The Lui Bar" for some drinks. The bar is at the 55th floor of Melbourne's iconic Rialto building. We took the train to Southern Cross Station and walked for about 10 mins till we reach the place. Waited awhile for the lady to let us into the lift and bring us up to 'the hidden floor' because the lift buttons only goes until the 54th floor. The place has a classy feel along with Melbourne city's night view plus, their service was really friendly.

Loving the sofas

Plastic sculptures of transparent clouds on the ceiling

Cocktails menu with interesting pop up design

Here comes our first round of drinks

The Lola Montez Spider Dance Fizz - a sweet drink for sweet lovers, comes with a spider

Pina Colada - rich taste of milky coconut flavoured drink

Opps forgotten what is this called

Velvet Rotor Macadamia Martini - loved the strong scent of macadamia

Ms: I stoned when this came, had a lil bit of time accepting that this plain-water-look-alike-drink-in-a-martini-glass is actually my cocktail. I've always thought that cocktails are colourful drinks. Don't judge the drink by it's colour!

A kind of dried fish (forgot what this is, failed big time as a blogger. LOL xD), snack on this with your drinks and chat the night away

Moonlight Bay Oysters - a friend who had this said there's a sparkling popping sensation when you eat it

Reminds us of the sweets we used to eat when we're kids, we would pour the sweets on our tongue and there goes the fireworks in our mouth.

Pinot Noir red wine for our second round of drinks

Us with half of The Bunch

Spectacular night view of Melbourne

Chilling at the outdoor area

We had a good night with The Bunch, definitely a nice place to chill and chat the night away. But! Our night does't end there, somehow we all ended up in Mink at Eve. It was supposed to be a chill night. =)

Laurent Boulangerie Patisserie

Finally visited Laurent Boulangerie Patisserie the other day. Heard so much about it and we knew we had to try it one day. Its winter now in Melbourne so it is really really nice and comfortable to have a place like this to have a cup of coffee or something hot in along with their yummyyy deserts.

Lingot Noir

Ms

First of all, all their dessert looks REALLY yummyyyy, thats for sure but we only tried Lingot Noir that day and it was really good. It is made of chocolate ganache mousse, brownie, champagne glaze and chocolate macaron. We pretty much chilled there and enjoy our order. With the venue and its atmosphere along with their menu, we would give the place a thumbs up. Plus, after having a taste of their dessert, we will definitely be back to try the others. So stay tune and we will update you more about this place the next time we visit!

Ms: Brunch at Manchester Press

9am, woke up to a beautiful sunny Wednesday! Met up with le bestie and le friend for brunch in the city. Initial plan was to go Mart 130 but somehow we ended up in Manchester Press.

Temporary saying goodbye to gloomy and drizzling winter
Entrance to MP a quiet street
Wheee~ My favourite Hot Chocolate for me!
How can i say no to a cup of warm, smooth and creamy hot chocolate on a chilly weather? AND IT'S CHOCOLATE. We were debating what my 'coffee art' is and my conclusion is that it's an one eyed hairy big headed alien.

Apparently drinking coffee is one of the must-do-things in Melbourne because there's a lot of good coffees around. So why hot chocolate? Yes i do drink coffee but i choose not to because i don't know why i just can't stand the smell of peeing coffee, it feels... weird. LOL!

Latte for le bestie. I told her it's a lion but she says it's a man with beard and he seems to have dropped his eyelash.
Chai Latte with honey for le friend. So sad the barista gave her a tea leaf =(
My choice: Toasted wholemeal bagel with Ham, Cheese & Tomato
I find this nothing special to shout out, maybe because i choosed the non-special dish? I am not a fancy food eater so i always go for the safe and common dish in the menu.

For le bestie: Zucchini Soup with poppyseed bagel
For le friend: Toasted bagel with Grilled Blue Cheese w/ Grapes, Roquette  & Walnuts
Le bestie spotted a disco ball hanging above us
Pardon me without my head
After the meal we strolled from Manchester Press to Flinders Station as i have to meet up with Mr. We walked past a water-wall on Collins St and le bestie said that people stick leaves on it to form words so out of curiosity, we went to experiment and had fun forming our initials on it. Le friend manage to form her initial "YL" which so happens to be le bestie's initial too. I wanted to spell my name but with limited time and not much fallen leaves on the road, i can only make out a "y". So sad =(

Three of us with our mutual initial
Who's who?
Random: Me waiting for Mr while he's trying on clothes
I don't think i will go back to MP anytime soon cause there are many more places i have yet to try out, maybe sometime in the future when i miss my alien-ish coffee art?

Mr: Sayonara Exam!

Wheeeee! Exams are over. I can finally kiss my notes and papers all goodbye for this semester. You know the feeling that after sitting your exam and you just wanna quickly go back home and burn those notes? Uh huh...that was the first thing I had in mind the moment I stepped out of the examination hall.

So...for my post-exam celebration, me and Ms decided to have dinner in the city and catch Fast & Furious 6. Time was abit rushy for our movie so we decided to eat at Paparich which means that I can order my fav nasi lemak!

Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken

 Fried Kuey Tiao for Ms

So far the best Nasi Lemak I can find in Melbourne is this. Its also the closest thing I could get to home.Talking about home, I wont be going back to Malaysia for my winter break this year. Sighhhh! Anyways, back to the movie. Sooo...we finally watched Fast & Furious 6 and it was good!

Fast & Furious 6

I personally loved this show. The best thing I find about this show is that even after coming out their 6th movie, they were still able to maintain their standards. And props to Tyrese Gibson (Roman Pearce) for making the movie so sooo funny. I definitely had a good experience watching this movie. If you guys have not watch this, please do!

Joomak Korean Restaurant

Like FINALLY! Dinner in CBD! Made Ms a happy kid because Mr is preparing for exam so Ms is growing mushrooms at home. We went to Joomak for dinner last night with The Bunch, first night out in the city for Ms since she came back from Malaysia and Mr seriously need to take a break from his endless revision. Joomak is kinda like our special place =) Our first dinner date venue in Melbourne <3 font="">

Joomak is not your typical kind of korean restaurant, they don't serve a wide range of menu but what makes them one of the hottest place in town is nevertheless their oh-so-yummy food and their recommended fruit flavoured soju and rice wine.

Food for The Hungry Pack of 6
Corn and Cheese
Kimchi Jigae with Pork
Mr's favourite Pan Fried Pork with mild spicy-ness. This is a must-have dish whenever we eat in Joomak.
Silken Tofu Soup with Kimchi and Pork, Ms's favourite dish among all.
Pan Fried Chicken Giblets
Must try: Pineapple Soju!
One soju is not enough to quench the thirst of The Hungry Pack so we ordered another soju which is honey citron flavoured but we still prefer pineapple flavoured.

Ms & Mr
Joomak open from 5pm till wee hours on Friday and Saturday, now we know where to go when Ms is craving for korean food in the middle of the night!
