N2 Extreme Gelato is in town!

A new hype is spreading around Melbourne, the oh-so-good-used-to-be-sydney-only gelato is now in Melbourne =D To find out what this is all about we made our way to Fitzroy.

The wall of menu, we've got:
Rum and Raisin
French Earl Grey
Pumpin Pomegranate Sorbet
Mango Sorbet
Strawberries and Cream
Leek + Honey
Sour Cream Chocolate
and highlight of the day
#LuxBite x N2 Deconstructed Kaya Toast

Safety knowledge on the opposite side of the wall

This is where the fun is

Hi there ^^

Spotted lego around the places

Our absolute favourite is the Deconstructed Kaya Toast! So sad it's a 3 days only special. Nooooooo! WE WANT MORE!! =( They seems to have a few different flavours maybe each day or some other days, we saw our friend had Creme Brulee flavour the other day! One of ze bunch just came back from Sydney and told us that there's Kimchi flavour in their Sydney store, hmm... wonder what would it taste like. Too bad that the shop is located slightly away from the city, else we'd be there more often. Sour Cream Chocolate next? Or French Earl Grey?

Happy Sunday =)

How's everybody's Sunday? Hope you all had a good weekend =) We wanna eat out for brunch today so we went to city for The Grain Store at Flinders Lane. They are currently at the no.1 place in Urbanspoon's talk-of-the-town list so we were tempted to check it out.

'Enjoy our table of inspiration'

Clean and simple decorated interior

Waiting for our foooooood~!

*special menu* French Toast - Buttermilk french toast with cold spiced nashi pear and candied pecan

Bacon Steak & Smoky New Season Borlotti Beans with eggs sunny sided up, whipped goat's feta, vincotto

Its quite sad to say that we were a little disappointed especially when we were heading to the place with the high 'talk-of-the-town' expectation. And when we say its disappointing, its not because the food is terrible or something. To be fair to The Grain Store, the quality of the food we ordered was good but their menu/cooking style/cooking culture somehow just doesn't suit both our taste and likings.

After brunch, we had to stay in the city to pass some things to Mr's cousin. Both of us were craving for an after-meal dessert so Mr suggested La Petite Gateau but unfortunately it was closed on a Sunday so we changed our plan and head towards Melbourne Central. We walked passed La Belle Miette and nothing can stop Ms from going into the shop to get the best macaroons in town!

Happy Ms with salted caramel, mango & coconut and hazelnut la belle macaroons

It was very windy on the outside so we stayed in Melbourne Central to kill time, we scout around the building for some sweet tooth to fix our cravings but nothing seems to be satisfying as our thoughts was all about Brownie and Passionfruit Chocolate Gateau from La Petite Gateau. End up we sat down in Theobroma Chocolate Lounge for some chocolates.

Waffles drizzled with thick melted chocolate and a scoop of ice cream

Hot belgian dark chocolate drink

As for dinner, we came home and boiled corn soup with pork bones and carrots add some red dates, scallops and wolf berries. As weekends are the days where we are allowed to indulge in everything sweet and fattening, we ended our night with Magnum's honeycomb ice cream accompanied by running man(the funniest tv show on earth)! A sunday well spent =) Goodnight people and have a nice week ahead~!

Ms: Coffee, Cakes, Gossips and Pizza

Babe Minli came to Melbourne! Last friday we went to Brunetti during teatime since it's a well known cafe throughout Melbourne and it's my first time too. We were there talking and gossiping non-stop for almost 3 hours, it's been too long since we last met so we have so much to catch up!

Lookie who's here

My first meal of that day

Rum and Raisin Cheesecake

Apple Strudel

PromeseD'Amore 'horn'

I am so not happy with my cake and pastries. I've been told that there are other much better dessert cafe than Brunetti before hand but even so, I still wanted to at least give it a try, then I can say that it's not worth going. Maybe it's just those three dessert on that particular day, at that specific outlet and  unlucky me. The cheesecake is not smooth and creamy at all, it is dry and flaky, even the cheesecake that my mum makes is so much better. The apple strudel is not worth ordering, one word 'soft', where did the crisp pastry gone to!? The 'horn' is okay, no comment on that. In the end, I still finish every bit of it even when it's disappointing. Haha! I just cannot waste desserts =D

Mr went to get his hair cut that afternoon so he came to meet us after he got his new look =P Then we had dinner with Babe Minli's friend at Cafe Cavallino in Lygon St.. Their pizza was very good! Mr preferred the Chicken Pizza but I like the Sausage Pizza more. The only minus point was that the pizza base is oily, I think they fried the pizza base to give it a very crunchy texture.

Sausage Pizza - Sauce, Mozzarella Cheese, Italian Pork Sausages, Egg and Bacon

Chicken Pizza - Sauce, Mozzarella Cheese, Chicken, Pineapple, Parsley

The owner of the restaurant seems to be a very big fan of Ferrari, the theme of the place and even the waiters/waitresses uniform was all about Ferrari F1. It was a simple and casual friday, later on we went for ice cream then played mahjong at one of ze bunch's place. Basically this is how we spend our friday nights, either mahjong or club but somehow it's got to do with alcohol xD It's another friday tomorrow! We both have no classes on friday which means our weekend has begun~~ Hurray =D We're going to Essendon DFO tomorrow, can't wait!

Not leaving? Don't blame me for not warning xD

One of my girl is going back to Malaysia for good tonight =( sadddddddd~ Few days before, she texted me to date me for most-likely-our-first-and-last-tea-session in Melbourne, no wayyyy I would say NO rite! So, one fine afternoon, 2.30pm, I met up with le gurls at South Yarra Station and the hunt for desserts begins! At first I was thinking, okay i'm going for tea time surely there's cakes involved so i skipped brunch to save tummy space, then le gurls tells me that they have plans to crash 3 different dessert spot. =D Muahahaha~ Lucky i went with an empty stomach waiting to be filled with dessert and more desserts! Forget the calories and guilt!

First stop: The Stables of Como

Our leader of the hunt but is poor in finding her way and needs a navigator xD

We were lost.....sort of...

We were heading towards the address with the help of our trusty phone map, it led us into a garden with no sign of any human being and the deeper we got the more we got worried. Are we in the right place? We kept walking and then we saw this old building, we thought we're there but no, the cafe was nowhere to be seen. Lucky us there's this two lady walking their dogs so we asked them for direction, she told us it's just a little bit further front. Phew...

Passed by this beautiful area, wouldn't you want your wedding ceremony to be held here?

Found it!

Nope this is not the cafe, it's just a building next to the cafe

Le menu

You can choose and pre-order your picnic meals then they will prepare everything and you can have your picnic session on the grounds surrounding Como House

Second stop: Burch & Purchese Sweet Studio

Wheeee~~ I'm here!! One of the best dessert place in Melbourne! We came here next because Burch & Purchese is not a cafe, there's no seating place to sit down and eat their cakes so I bought two cakes back home for my after dinner desserts Mr as his after dinner desserts. I'm such a good gf xD TeeHee!

Bringing happiness back to Mr ^^

Happiness overload ^^

Caramel, Choc, Hazelnut Choux
Hazelnut sable / Baked glazed choux bun / Salted caramel, hazelnut & chocolate cream

Pineapple, Mango, Chocolate
Coconut sponge / Mango mousse / Spicy pineapple jam / Pineapple cream / Chocolate mousse / Bounty mix / Velvet spray / Pineapple jelly / Mango curd

I bought these two sweet tooth home for Mr, he is not really a fan of cakes and desserts and is very specific to what he likes and dislikes so I chose those that he most likely will eat. The Pineapple, Mango, Chocolate is very nice! Highly recommended!! Despite so many different flavour combine together, it is still light and fresh. It is still good to eat even in the next day. The Caramel, Choc, Hazelnut Choux is nothing fancy but very good too! The salted caramel, hazelnut & chocolate cream filling is ohh-so-irresistable! As I mentioned, Mr is not a fan of desserts but some cakes on the menu caught his attention and he would like to try it so I guess my second visit there won't be too long =D hurray!

Last stop: LuxBite
