Winery Hopping In Mornington

*Photo Post*

Few weeks ago we went for a road trip to Mornington!

First stop: Montalto Vineyard & Olive Grove

Different type of olive oil free to taste

Let's get drunk!

List of wines for tasting

Sighhh only a small gulp per each wine, how to get drunk?

Bottoms up

We were suppose to be in there having our lunch =(

Second stop: Paringa Estate

Third stop: Port Philip Estate

We had our lunch in Port Philip Estate, our first choice was initially to have lunch in Montalto but it's fully booked when we got there. Another lesson learnt, always make reservation before going anywhere to dine. So we immediately call up Port Philip Estate to make a reservation for an hour later and lucky us there's still empty table, so here we are.

Complimentary appetizer

Roasted rabbit loin, braised leg, celeriac, radish

Crispy skin pork belly, cheek and trotter sausage, heirloom vegetables

Quail, caramelized onion tart, quince and crispy potatoes

Roasted partridge, spaetzle, cavolo nero, mushrooms, Madeira jus

Fillet of Patagonian tooth fish, caviar black lentil, clams, cavolo nero, beure blanc

Fillet of Gippsland beef, braised cheek, root vegetable puree, red wine jus

Flinders Island lamb cutlets, tarragon crusted neck, peppers, black garlic

Abalone look alike pear dessert

In the end, the lunch turned out to be just fine, mostly because of the view and the company. The food wasn't too bad but it was a mutual agreement that it wasn't worth the money and we would not visit this restaurant again. We believed that with the same amount of money we're paying, other winery restaurants nearby such as Montalto and Paringa Estate would be more tummy-satisfying.

Plus, from the moment we sat down till we left the place, the lunch took us about 3 hours. We do not know why but their services was sooooo slow. If it wasn't because we have our kakis there to chit-chat, it will be such a frustrating experience having to wait so long for our food tobe served and its not like the restaurant was super busy.

Fine dining is not just about the quality of the food, its about the full dining experience. From food to service to enviroment. Basically the only good component in the equation is their enviroment. Other then that, it was a little disappointment.

A new hype is spreading around Melbourne, the oh-so-good-used-to-be-sydney-only gelato is now in Melbourne =D To find out what this is all about we made our way to Fitzroy.

The wall of menu, we've got:
Rum and Raisin
French Earl Grey
Pumpin Pomegranate Sorbet

Strawberries and Cream
Leek + Honey
Sour Cream Chocolate
and highlight of the day

Safety knowledge on the opposite side of the wall

This is where the fun is

Kaya Gelato with Ping Pong Cream Cracker topped with Toasted Bread Crumb and Kaya Sringe

Mango Sorbet

Hi there ^^

Spotted lego around the places

Our absolute favourite is the Deconstructed Kaya Toast! So sad it's a 3 days only special. Nooooooo! WE WANT MORE!! =( They seems to have a few different flavours maybe each day or some other days, we saw our friend had Creme Brulee flavour the other day! One of ze bunch just came back from Sydney and told us that there's Kimchi flavour in their Sydney store, hmm... wonder what would it taste like. Too bad that the shop is located slightly away from the city, else we'd be there more often. Sour Cream Chocolate next? Or French Earl Grey?

Ms: It's My Birthday! (Session 2)

Almost two weeks has gone since I turned 26*ahem18. The weather has changed drastically, I miss the cold =( Winter come back please, I hate hot weather! So, continue on my birthday series, we went to Seven after dinner and got ourselves into super loooooong queue in the cold. Didn't have many photos to show for that night cause I was quite occupied, went to and fro the bar all night for shooters. I think I had shots of ABC, Jager Bomb, Tequila and Coffee Patron and of course mixture of Champagne with Hennessy. Thankiuu everyone who bought me drinks!
